For the 2025 edition of SP-Arte, we are pleased to present a group project with works by Ana Mazzei, LABINAC, Dalton Paula and Hudinilson Jr.
For the booth, Ana Mazzei presents sculptures in which she chooses bronze as the protagonist, referencing figures and passages from theater, literature, mythology, and her personal universe.
Founded by artists Maria Thereza Alves and Jimmia Durham, the LABINAC project is part of the booth with works that think about the space based on the idea of developing a hybrid between sculpture and a piece of furniture.
Dalton Paula presents a series of photo-performances where he discusses his influences and his research into popular festivals – such as Folias de Reis, Catira and Congadas. The character he creates and represents, called Barreira do Som [Sound Barrier], discusses the black body, Afro-Brazilian religion and elements of the Congadas.
Hudinilson Jr.’s xerographs recreate the body in his own way, destroying details and enhancing others, resulting in images that come close to abstraction, in a reading/viewing exercise.
